Italian Flower Festival

The Teen Travelers are heading to Italy!

All across the country, Italians celebrate the amazing Infiorata festivals. The word "infiorata" means "decorated with flowers," and that's exactly what they do. Using flower petals, artists create beautiful mosaic carpets that quite literally cover thousands of miles worth of streets. This flower tradition dates back to the seventeenth century, and is now celebrated in countries around the world. So, join us at the Franklin Library and make your own colorful carpet of "flowers." We will listen to Italian music and enjoy snacks to help get into the celebratory mood.

Little Norwegian Christmas in July

Let's get into the Christmas spirit, Teen Travelers!

Christmas in Norway is a very big deal, and is celebrated by the vast majority of its residents. On December 23rd, most families celebrate Lille Julaften, or "Little Christmas Eve," and spend the day decorating the tree, and preparing for the upcoming celebrations.
Norwegian rosemaling, or "rose painting," is a form of decorative folk art painting that has been important to Norwegian culture since the 1700s. So, come to the Springboro Library and paint a wooden ornament inspired by the rosemaling technique, and immerse yourself in a little bit of the Norwegian Christmas spirit.
