The Franklin-Springboro Public Library offers take-home and in-person programs to engage young readers. Details on upcoming programs can be found below.

Ocean Life Take-Home Activity

  • Date: Monday, June 6
  • Location: Both Library Branches (Franklin and Springboro)
  • Ages: All Ages
  • Registration: NOT required.
  • Description: Stop by either library branch Monday, June 6, to pick up a take-home activity featuring sea creatures. Activities are available on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.

 

Mike Hemmelgarn (Comedian, Juggler, Ventriloquist)

  • Date: Tuesday, June 21
  • Location: Franklin Library (all performances)
  • Times: 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.
  • Ages: All Ages
  • Registration: NOT required.
  • Description: Mike Hemmelgarn will bring his puppets, juggling skill, and humor to the Franklin Library Tuesday, June 21, for a performance you won't want to miss! There are four performance times to choose from. 

 

Stevens Puppets (Marionette Show)

  • Date: Tuesday, June 28
  • Location: Franklin Library (all performances)
  • Times: 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.
  • Ages: All Ages
  • Registration: NOT required.
  • Description: Stevens Puppets will perform 'The Wizard of Oz' at the Franklin Library Tuesday, June 21. There are four performance times to choose from.

Erica Carlson (Magic Show)

  • Description: Erica Carlson will perform her Rockin' Pirate Magic Show at the Franklin Library Tuesday, July 19. There are four performance times to choose from.

 

Kindergarten Kick-Start

  • Dates: Saturdays, July 30, August 6, and August 13
  • Location: Franklin Library
  • Time: 10 - 11:30 a.m.
  • Age: 5 (This program is exclusively for children beginning kindergarten this school year.)
  • Registration: Required. Call (937) 746-2665 to sign up.
  • Description: Children beginning kindergarten this August will have an opportunity to practice some skills that will help them feel ready for their first day. With stories, songs, games, and activities, we'll practice not only the alphabet and counting, but also listening, taking turns, and patience. Other kindergarten skills like using scissors and glue, writing your name, and even choosing healthy snacks will be covered. Each of the three sessions will be different so we encourage you to sign up for all three if you are able.
